XM28E4 "Grasshopper" Gas Mask Head

As US involvement in Vietnam grew, the need for a compact gas mask for pilots and ground troops became apparent due to the growing use of chemical weapons. These can often be observed in use by helicopter pilots flying through areas affected by chemical agents, tunnel rats clearing enemy tunnels with riot control gas, and famously MACV SOG units.
