Vietnam 2nd Pattern Jungle Fatigues with 3rd Pattern Jungle Boots

As Brick Warp gears up to start exploring Vietnam, I am offering a select range of prototype uniforms and equipment pieces as I design them to later utilize in complete minifigures. These products are perfect for kitbashing your own minifigures, or augmenting your collection as I continue to roll out more variety! 

This uniform combination represents the standard fatigues worn on base or leave from approximately 1967-1972. Please note although uniforms entered production on specific dates, stock would often take months to actually reach deployed troops, and was always short of needed quantities, resulting in prior patterns being used throughout US involvement in country. I have not included any insignia to offer more usability across a range of times, places, and units. 

The Vietnam era jungle fatigues are often considered one of the most influential military uniform designs in history. They did however, string from a long lineage of US development of jungle capable uniforms for combat troops. Following poor performance of the sateen OG-107 uniform, designers referenced back to WWII era uniforms that saw better reception from servicemembers. The ultimate design would incorporate the beloved, angled and bellowed pockets of the WWII Army Airborne M1942 uniform, combined with the generous cut and freedom of movement WWII era HBT fatigues offered. The second pattern of this jacket would improve upon the first, with the buttons now shielded from catching on foliage.   

The 3rd Pattern Tropical Combat "Jungle" boots accompanied the main influx of US ground troops into Vietnam. These boots improved upon the prior by adding a spike protective layer into the sole, as well as the distinct diagonal nylon reinforcements on the sides
