While my focus is still solely on purveying your favorite custom printed minifigures and parts, I can't just pass up representing the Brick Warp company car, mail carrier, and bar cruiser in Lego. Available as either a printed parts pack with instructions to source your own parts, or a complete building kit with all parts included, you will enjoy this build just as much as we enjoy playing around with the real thing. Model by @isubuilds, printing by Brick Warp. You can find more of his designs available via his rebrickable.
This model represents our 1944 Willys MB, restored as serving with the 502nd PIR, 101st airborne in WWII. We have gone down the rabbit hole printing every possible detail, with many never before having been done before on a Lego model, as well as a full suite of printed accessories to accompany it. Equal attention was paid to designing not only a sturdy model, but in the historically correct configuration one would see in combat, as well as brick built and printed details to bring the fidelity as close as possible to the real vehicle. We have opted for a printed windshield cover to depict the windshield commonly folded down and covered to prevent glare in combat zones, as well as the wire cutter on the front, field modified to prevent any danger from German razor wire with the windshield absent. The headlights are also a printed detail, representing the canvas covers tied over them in the field to prevent glare or light exposure if accidentally turned on at night. In direct contrast to the army's insistence on subduing any potential glare, we of course have printed all of the bright white markings traced off of the real hand applied stencils, as well as a nice gloss print for the red side reflectors. To fully capture the shape of the vehicle, we have also done a brick built and printed gas can on the rear with art for the water basin often strapped to them, as well as interior details for a fully printed dash, and brick built rear tool boxes with printed lids. Additional printed accessories are included for not only the grease gun and lubrication chart supplied with every jeep in WWII, but also the first aid kit, gas casualty kit, fire extinguisher, and gas decontamination sprayer. None of these necessarily build into the model, but I'm excited to see what kind of uses people find for them in motorpool MOCs, ect. Just like the real thing, the model will comfortably fit three minifigures, four if you really cram them in. Seriously, try sitting in our jeep if you catch us at a show, and see how easy of a time it is to fit into the drivers seat if you're over 5'8.
Of course, it wouldn't be complete without a minifigure to drive it. We've opted for a simple 101st Airborne paratrooper depicting the Jeep's service in Market Garden. New art has been made for the full M1943 field uniform in airborne use with the 101st shoulder patch and invasion armband, as well as the rigger modification to the pants with reinforced pockets and leg ties wrapping around the entire leg. Representing a veteran of Normandy, this trooper has retained his jump boots, as well as the leather chin cup hanging down from his helmet. Each figure includes a completely printed helmet featuring new details for the british made nets used by the 101st, white heart insignia used by the 502nd, texture printed first aid pouch tied onto the net, as well as the common trend of hooking the helmet's chinstraps up into the net to keep them out of the way. As a jeep driver, I've also added the unique detail of the polaroid goggles hanging from his neck, and a matching silhouette of those goggles on the face print where the road grime hasn't built up.
